- Key sheet to the set: an outline map of Wisconsin naming every county, overprinted in red with the boundaries of the twelve numbered map sections, from Section 1 in the south-east corner (Dane, Rock, Milwaukee, Kenosha) to Section 12 on the Lake Superior shore (Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland, Iron). Published by the Wisconsin Division, L. A. W.
- The south-eastern corner of the state — Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Green, Rock, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha counties — running from the Illinois line north to Oconomowoc and east to the Lake Michigan shore. Roads are graded around Madison, Janesville, Beloit, Monroe, Whitewater, Delavan, Lake Geneva, Burlington, Watertown and Waukesha.
- East-central Wisconsin: Marquette, Green Lake, Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac and Washington counties with the Ozaukee and western Sheboygan shore, reaching the foot of Lake Winnebago. Covers the roads about Fond du Lac, Ripon, Berlin, Columbus, Beaver Dam, Waupun, Hartford, West Bend, Cedarburg and Port Washington.
- The Fox River valley and the Lake Michigan shore north of it — Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet, Brown, Manitowoc, Kewaunee and Door counties, including Washington Island. Roads centre on Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, De Pere, Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Kewaunee, Ahnapee and Sturgeon Bay.
- The lead-region south-west: Grant, Iowa and La Fayette counties, bounded by the Mississippi on the west, the Wisconsin River on the north and the southern boundary of the state. Roads run through Lancaster, Platteville, Cassville, Boscobel, Fennimore, Muscoda, Dodgeville, Mineral Point, Darlington and Shullsburg.
- The western coulee country and lower Wisconsin valley — La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, Crawford, Richland and Sauk counties with parts of Juneau and Adams. Takes in La Crosse, Onalaska, Sparta, Tomah, Viroqua, Prairie du Chien, Richland Center, Reedsburg, Elroy, Spring Green and Prairie du Sac, along the Kickapoo and Mississippi.
- The central Wisconsin River counties: Wood, Portage and Waupaca across the top, with Adams, Waushara and eastern Juneau below. Roads are shown through Stevens Point, Grand Rapids, Marshfield, Plover, Port Edwards, Waupaca, Weyauwega, New London, Wautoma, Plainfield and Necedah.
- West-central Wisconsin along the Mississippi and Chippewa — Dunn, Eau Claire, Clark, Jackson, Trempealeau, Buffalo and Pepin counties, with Pierce county carried as an inset. Covers Eau Claire, Durand, Alma, Mondovi, Osseo, Black River Falls, Neillsville, Trempealeau, River Falls and Ellsworth.
- The north-eastern timber counties: Langlade, Shawano, Oconto and Marinette, from the Wolf River east to the Green Bay shore and the Menominee River state line. Roads run through Antigo, Shawano, Gillett, Oconto, Pensaukee, Peshtigo and Marinette, and the Menominee and Stockbridge reservations are marked.
- North-central Wisconsin — Marathon and Lincoln counties east of the Wisconsin River with Clark, Taylor and Price to the west. Roads are graded about Wausau, Merrill, Tomahawk, Mosinee, Marathon City, Medford, Westboro, Colby, Spencer, Withee, Thorp and Prentice.
- The north-west quarter's settled belt: Polk, St. Croix, Barron, Dunn and Chippewa counties, from the St. Croix River and the Minnesota line eastward. Covers Hudson, New Richmond, Baldwin, St. Croix Falls, Osceola, Menomonie, Rice Lake, Chetek, Chippewa Falls and Cadott.
- The northern lake district — Vilas, Oneida, Forest and Florence counties with the upper part of Marinette, bounded by the Michigan state line. Sparsely roaded lake and river country, with Rhinelander, Eagle River, Three Lakes and Florence the chief points.
- The Lake Superior country: Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties along the shore, with Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer and northern Price below. Roads radiate from Superior at the head of St. Louis Bay and from Ashland on Chequamegon Bay, with the Bayfield peninsula and the Namekagon and Chippewa headwaters shown.
