  The firm's company history: from its start building bicycles in 1885, through the safety bicycle, the chain drive and pneumatic tyres of 1888, the move to Via Borghetto in 1890, racing successes including the 1899 world track victories in Paris, to motor tricycles, cars, motor boat engines, fire engines and an airship shown at the Milan aeronautical exhibition.

  Terms of sale: prices are for goods delivered free to Milan station or at the agents' warehouse against cash, and payment is cash or cash on delivery with one third on ordering and the rest against the railway receipt. Saddles are Brooks, chains Renold, and the price includes the bag, keys, oiler and pump but not lamp or bell. Packing is canvas, a wooden crate costs L. 3.50 extra, claims must be made within eight days, and disputes go to the Milan courts.

  Warranty: all Bianchi bicycles carry a twelve-month guarantee against manufacturing defects, limited to free repair at the Viale Abruzzi works. Each machine needs a warranty certificate countersigned by an exclusive agent.
