  The conditions of the 24 hours race: entry limited to 18 competitors riding in club colours with numbers sewn front and back, each provided with a bell tent in the track straight where all feeding must take place, four attendants and up to 40 pacemakers apiece, pacemakers under the absolute control of the Pacemaker Marshalls, half-hourly posting of distances, and a bar on brakes, free wheels and unprotected handlebar ends.
