  Abbot Bassett's December 1908 leader, a running stream of seasonal notes, jokes and cycling commentary, announcing the deaths of Life Members M. D. Knowlton of Rochester (no. 74) and W. J. Breed of Cincinnati (no. 217) and touching on the Boston Bicycle Club's annual Thanksgiving run round Blue Hill, the sale of Madison Square Garden, and Massachusetts state highways being declared the best in the world.
• NATIONAL ASSEMBLY DELEGATES.

  Sets out, under the L.A.W. Constitution, the number of National Assembly representatives apportioned to each state from the membership of Dec. 1, 1908 (Mass. 10, N.Y. 16, Penn. 11; total 63), with the nomination and election procedure, signed by Abbot Bassett, Sec.-Treas.
• ANNUAL ELECTION.

  Reports the Scrutineers' ballot for L.A.W. national officers: Walter M. Meserole of Brooklyn elected President, Frank W. Weston of Boston 1st Vice-President, Fred Atwater of Bridgeport 2d Vice-President, Abbot Bassett of Boston Secretary-Treasurer, and Geo. W. Nash of Boston Auditor.
• PLEDGES FROM LIFE MEMBERS.

  Lists the pledges received up to Nov. 28 in response to the Ways and Means Committee's circular, naming donors such as C. J. Obermayer of Brooklyn, James G. Barnett of Newark, W. H. Field of Green Bay and Fred Atwater of Bridgeport, who agree to pay yearly sums for five years to support the League's official magazine.
• JOINED IN 1882.

  A list of L.A.W. members who joined in 1882 and remain in good standing, including George Chinn of New York (no. 64), Henry E. Ducker of Albany and N. G. Crawford of Louisville.
• FROM THE POET LARIAT.

  A letter from Harry C. G. Ellard of Cincinnati congratulating the editor on making the Scrap Book a pure cycling magazine, closing with a verse to the old guard; the section continues with a gossipy Paris letter from James M. Erwin recalling Sterling Elliott and Karl Kron and a chat with Wilbur Wright, and a letter from Frank C. Orr of Pittsburg on the decline of wheeling in hilly western Pennsylvania.
• TO THE MEMBERSHIP.

  The Committee on Ways and Means' appeal to the whole membership, explaining the League's financial straits arising from unrepaid loans of $10,253.30 made to Divisions (a loss of $6,968.01) and asking Life Members and others to pledge from $1 a year for five years to keep the monthly organ alive; signed by Meserole, Morris, Cooke and Obermayer.
