- The opening leader announces that, in response to a desire expressed at the late L. A. W. Assembly, the Scrap Book will in future be more of a cycling paper, and appeals to wheelmen for moral support and business to keep the League alive.
- Report of the Annual Meeting of the National Assembly, L. A. W., held at Boston on Thursday, Sept. 10, with President Marriott C. Morris presiding; the Secretary-Treasurer reported a membership of 1,428 and the financial accounts, and nominations for officers (Walter M. Meserole for President, Abbot Bassett for Secretary-Treasurer) were made.
- An account of the 1908 annual run that started Sept. 11 under Captain W. G. Kendall, listing the bicyclists and motorists from Boston, Philadelphia, Providence, New York and Bridgeport and describing the lunches, the banquet at the Tudor Farm Club, the speeches and the verses by Papa Weston.
- Notes that the L. A. W. was organized at Newport, R. I., on May 31, 1880, and lists the surviving founder-members, giving precedence to those elected officers at Newport such as Commander Kirk Munroe and Treasurer Hugh L. Willoughby.
- A comic poem from the Verse-makers' Scrap Book, here attributed to Will R. Pitman of New York, in which the narrator boasts of riding his first race in the Garden of Eden and of being one of the old timers present at Newport.
