  • NOVEMBER SCRAPS.
    The opening editorial leader celebrates the success of the relaunched bicycle paper, urges old-timers to recruit their sons into the L.A.W., and notes that Lon Peck has moved his bicycle shop in the Pope building to 178 Columbus Ave., Boston, leaving only three cycle stores on bicycle row, before turning to the good-roads question and the damage automobiles and tar treatments do to road surfaces.
  • FROM THE BEGINNING.
    A roster listing members who joined the L.A.W. in its first two years (1880-1881) with their League numbers, including R. A. Fairfield of Saco, Me. (No. 2), Frank W. Weston of Boston, Edward F. Tolman of Worcester, and Abbot Bassett of Newton, Mass. (No. 63), of whom the editor recalls personally meeting forty-three.
  • TWO OF A KIND.
    A comic verse from the verse-makers' Scrap Book at the Wheel Around the Hub, told by John Kelly about being mistaken for his look-alike brother Ned when Jennie kisses the wrong man, followed by a note on Thanksgiving falling on a Thursday.
  • IN THE MORNING.
    Verses set to Tom Hall's song "Philadelphia in the Morning" (sung at Boston Bicycle Club and Rover's Cycle Club dinners and the Wheel Around the Hub), rewritten by the W.A.T.H. verse maker into a song about riding to Cohasset with the Boston Club.
  • HE APPROVES.
    A letter from L.A.W. member No. 142 in Chicago (Oct. 20, 1908) praising the Scrap Book's return to being a real cycling publication, blaming the sprinkling-cart for banishing wheels from Chicago's streets, and calling for an organizer to revive the League.
  • FROM LIFE MEMBER 54.
    A letter from W. H. Field, No. 537, of Green Bay, Wis. (Oct. 20, 1908), endorsing the broadening of the Scrap Book and the revival effort, reflecting on the League's rise and decline and arguing that life members and automobilists could be induced to support it again.
  • PERIODICAL LIST.
    A subscription department listing periodicals on which members can obtain discounts, with list and club prices and class designations, covering titles from Ainslee's and Atlantic to Bicycling World, Cycle & Auto Trade Journal and Outing, plus special club combinations.
