- Abbot Bassett's report of the L.A.W. National Assembly held at Hendrie's on Talbot Avenue, Boston, where President Meserole presided over fifteen members; the Secretary reported a membership of 1,301, the loss of 127 members (15 by death) and six life members including Col. Albert A. Pope, and constitutional amendments were adopted.
- The nominating committee's recommended candidates for a mail vote—Walter M. Meserole (President), Fred Atwater, Quincy Kilby, Abbot Bassett (Secretary-Treasurer) and George W. Nash—followed by a resolution mourning Col. Albert A. Pope as a founder and liberal supporter of the League.
- An account of the Boston Bicycle Club's annual three-day Wheel About the Hub of September 4–6, listing the riders and the automobile party, the lunch at the Grove of Pleasant Memories, the climb of Blue Hill, and a memorial service at Cedar Lodge.
- Bassett notes the death of motor-paced champion Hugh MacLean, killed September 3 (the sixth rider killed following motors), and the retirement of L.A.W. founder Elliott Mason of the Pope Manufacturing Co., among other League jottings.
- On September 12 the Century Road Club of America ran a pleasure run to Rye Beach, N.Y., with four hundred riders from forty-one organizations; the Courier Cycle Club won the cup for neatest uniform appearance and the Columbia Road Club of Jersey City took the out-of-town prize.
- President Walter M. Meserole's notice, dated Brooklyn, September 13, 1909, appointing John C. Gulick of New York City as Counsellor of the League of American Wheelmen for the remainder of his term.
- A numbered roster of those who joined the League of American Wheelmen in 1892 and remain in good standing, giving each member's name, city and date of joining.
- Bassett's tabulated list of periodicals offering discounts to subscribers, with instructions for forming clubs and both list and discounted prices for magazines such as the American Magazine, Atlantic, Century and Bicycling World.
