- Writing as "Invicta", the author traces the Worthing Road from Tooting and Merton through Epsom, the Vale of Mickleham and Dorking to Horsham and Worthing Pier, noting Nelson's associations with Merton Abbey and Burford Bridge and Shelley's birthplace at Field Place.
- "W.O.C." recommends Graiguenamanagh in County Kilkenny as a touring centre, describing the ruined Duiske Abbey, the Butlers' peel tower, and routes to Borris, New Ross, Inistioge's Woodstock woods and Kilkenny.
