- The editor recounts being pounced on by a Winchester constable in the High Street for riding bell-less on the way back from fishing at Twyford, and being summoned to answer a breach of the local bye-law on 2 August, warning members that the practice of carrying a bell should be invariable.
- A visit to J. Stassen's workshop in Beaumont Place off the Euston Road, taking in the wheel run over by a coach on Derby day with not a spoke started, the remains of a six-seat “tetracycle,” the hospital for bent backbones under the stairs, and the maker's insistence that “it is not the weight: in the long run, 'tis the man makes all the difference.”
- Report of the club's third annual race meeting on the County Cricket Ground, Hove, criticising the unroped, cinder-stripped path and the crowd wandering across it: Quirk beat the advertised amateur champion R. R. Mackinnon in the Open Mile, Runtz and Tarling took the mile and two-mile finals, Moore won both club handicaps, and John Keen rode two miles against time in 6 min. 28 sec.
- Bacon, Cooke, Freeth and Marchant leave the Marble Arch at six on a bugle call from Cooke, find the Brixton Road execrable after the night's rain, reach Croydon at 7.10 and Horley at 8.40, and are halted again at Crawley by Buckler, who had ridden over from Dorking for breakfast.

- H. C. Visick offers a 52-inch all-bright Goddard of Brighton with roller bearings and front-wheel roller brake, cost £24, for £12; W. J. Williams wants to exchange a 54-inch Johnson's Mileage Indicator for a 56-inch; and J. F. Marchant again offers his 58-in. Stassen.
- Recommends pure white “Oxford Mat,” absorbent enough to make a jersey unnecessary, which with the new military collar to the club jacket and a spare collar carried lets a rider arrive looking neat.

W. L., charged half-a-crown each for tea at the “Red Lion,” Elstree, proposes District Captains report tea prices to the Hotel Sub-Committee, which the Editor endorses.
