- District reports on the August 17th runs: thirteen N.W. men rode to St. Albans via Finchley and Ridge Hill, bathing at the City Baths and taking meat tea at the "Bell"; the Western trio of W. A. Smith, Potts and Scott went by Hanger Hill and Bentley Priory; and the S.E. party met the Kingston Club and Wanderers at the "Hautboy and Fiddle," Ockham, before Potter and Dicker saw off a navvy who thrust a stick into Potter's front wheel at Sutton.
- R. G. Francis describes crossing from Waterloo via Southampton with his machine for 4s. 6d., then riding Havre–Harfleur–Lillebonne–Caudebec–Duclair–Canteleu into Rouen, rating the "Hotel Frascati" expensive and the "Hotel du Nord" at Rouen good value.
- First instalment of a three-week tour with Mr. H. Young and P. F. Wheeler of the D.B.B.C., from South Norwood up the Great North Road through Barnet, Baldock, Norman's Cross, Grantham, York, Darlington and Durham to Ayton, including Young being thrown into a gig at Welwyn and the author's "Timberlake" handles snapping at Morpeth.
- Addenda to Route 1, advising the Alresford turning via Cheriton and Ovington Downs rather than the climb over Gander Down, and correcting Route 11 to read "Petersfield to East Tisted."
- "Another Hampshireman" writes to correct McCullum's account of Route 11, explaining that Steep lies at the foot and East Tisted at the top of Stonor Hill, and recommends Mrs. Allen's "Railway Inn" at Petersfield along with a longer round by Rogate, Midhurst, Petworth and Horsham.
- H. C. Freeth's day-by-day notes from Canterbury and Dover through St. Omer, Douai, Cambray, Hirson, Mezieres, Sedan and Luneville to Alt Breisach and the Rhine Falls, with unrideable pave and mud forcing him to train part of the way.
- District meeting places and times for August 24th and 31st, from Lea Bridge Road for Ingatestone and "Jack Straw's Castle" for Essendon to Surbiton Station for Reigate and Ripley.

R. with a home-made cardboard dial divided into decimals of a mile; "Verax" defends the members' delay over the Ladies' Challenge Prize as awaiting a Committee lead; and "One from the West" complains that the Western district runs have shrunk to the district captain alone.
