- The Editors announce with regret that Mr. C. R. Hutchings has resigned the Secretaryship, thank him for his work for the Club and for the Bicycling Union, and hope that although his home is no longer in London he will remain a member.
- Mr. Erwin, landlord of the "Coach and Horses" at Kew Green, offers the Club the use of its rented room gratis through the winter months, washing and dressing accommodation excepted.
- Minutes of the meeting of Monday the 9th: Houldsworth, Weir, Alfred Herbert and Webster elected; the City head-quarters sub-committee still without a room; Hutchings's resignation accepted from the 14th with the Captain taking over his duties; W. A. Smith's offer to index the minute book accepted; the evening race meeting accounts passed; Erwin's Kew Green offer accepted; and the Cambridge match fixed for October 26th.
- Captain M. D. Rucker, Jun., sets out the terms of the match on the Cambridge Ground on October 26th, one, four and fifteen miles, three riders a side, dual members barred, and urges the Club's racing men into strict training, with a trial race on October 22nd if more than three enter an event.
- Inquiries for the Bicycle Union show the by-law must still be advertised at the Town Hall for six weeks and confirmed by the Home Secretary, and will bind only the borough of Kingston; riders are asked to send notice of proposed local by-laws to the Union's Hon. Sec. at 2, Lombard Street.
- J. W. Alison reports the N.W. District's 44-mile moonlight run of September 7th by Temple Fortune, Edgware and Aldenham to the Watford bathing place and the "Essex Arms," and Cyril J. Turner records the S.E. Divisions meeting at Farnborough for Seal, where tea at "The Yeoman" cost 2s. 3d., with a rebuke to members who have attended no meet this season.
- Owen Roe supplements W. R. Sewell's route: young Barker of South Street, Bridport, for repairs; the Ship Canal towing-path and Powderham Park as ways round bad road out of Exeter; and a lane to the Teignmouth sea wall giving half a mile of level running.
- Owen Roe continues up the Test valley from Ower and Romsey by Horsebridge, Stockbridge and Leckford to Andover and Hurstbourne Tarrant, warns off King's Somborne and Longstock, sketches a circular run by Lyndhurst, Lymington, Yarmouth and Ryde, and recommends Cheetham of St. Mary's Street for repairs and W. H. Smith & Sons' four-mile maps.
- R. G. Francis rides by Pont-au-Baud, Pontorson and Dol to Dinan with views of Mont St. Michel, meets the only French bicyclist of the tour in rush hat and top boots, then fights market-day peasants and their tethered pigs on the cut-up road to Dinard before crossing to St. Malo.
- Arthur E. Buckler rides from Tufnell Park through Ealing, Staines, Egham Hill, Virginia Water and Bagshot to Basingstoke, bugling a traction engine off the crown of the road near Hartford Bridge, then on by Andover and the Wallops to meet Keynes in Salisbury market-place.
- Jos. C. Keynes introduces Wimborne, its Norman minster, a magistrate hostile to bicycles and a chief constable who would hold riders to four miles an hour, then rides to Salisbury by Stanbridge, St. Giles' Park and Woodyates, getting flatly contradictory distances from a mason and a gamekeeper.
- A more favourable account is reported of the condition of Mr. Whitehead, one of the sufferers in the Sittingbourne accident.
- Meetings listed for the Civil Service B.C. at Stamford Bridge, Beckenham B.C., the Surrey B.C. at Kennington Oval, John Keen's amateur handicap at Lillie Bridge, and the C.U.Bi.C. v. L.B.C. inter-club races at Cambridge on October 26th.
- Croydon and Blackheath Division meets for September 14th, 21st (Farningham, joining at the "Bell," Bromley) and 28th (Godstone), plus W. A. Smith's Western District runs to Weybridge, Mickleham and Black Park and an October 12th full-moon trip to Petersfield for Stonor Hill by the Portsmouth road over Hind Head.
- Note that some members intend to ride to Cambridge on the morning of October 26th for the inter-club match.
- "Suspender" follows up his earlier letter to report that Messrs. Goy have laid in a stock of stocking suspenders for bicyclists, 3s. a pair with waistbelts and 1s. 6d. for the button-fastening kind.
- Replies to Zit, L., Sigma, O. P. and X Y Z, refusing room for petty personal attacks; an appreciation of W. A. Smith for undertaking to index the Club minute book, with renewed regret at the flippant attack on him printed a few weeks back; and a correction to "Ode to a Bicycle" substituting "threatening" for "angry" in the sixth stanza.
