- Leading article proposing that a club run split after the meet into a fast and a slow division riding to the same halting-place, so that men training for the Bath Race need not “drone along the road like a funeral procession” while the slow men keep their conversation and scenery, with the early arrivals ordering tea for a fixed hour.
- H. C. Freeth rides the new Bath–London course to test Mr. Hutchings's map and finds no material discrepancy, warning only of the sharp left before the station beyond Corsham. His letter describes atrocious surfaces from Bath to Melksham, a soaking on the downs above Devizes, quagmires past Hungerford, and a handle broken in two at Reading after 73½ miles.
- Hon. Sec. C. R. Hutchings announces that members will shortly receive member's, admission, ladies' and practice tickets, asks every member to dispose of his admission tickets, and notes that 2s. admission tickets will be sold at 1s. 6d. before the day of the races.
- Report of the L.A.C. First Summer Meeting at Stamford Bridge, where boxing on a raised platform facing the Grand Stand drew complaints from the ladies. E. W. P. Cambridge (I Zingari B.C.) took the bicycle handicap from 335 yards, beating E. A. Runtz and W. Wyndham of the L.B.C. in 9 min. 33½ sec., with full heat-by-heat returns.
- At the Committee meeting at 44, Pall Mall on Monday the 27th, F. E. Metcalfe of Hendon, R. D. D. McLean of St. Stephen's Club and R. J. Scott of Sidcup were elected members.
- District reports: four N.E. men rode to the “Maypole” at Chigwell Row and met nine N.W. members who had come by Tottenham and Woodford Bridge, a 33-mile run home by Higham Hill, Hornsey and Muswell Hill; the West Division's four starters at Kew Bridge were soaked at Kingston Bridge and turned back.
- The list of entrants for the Bath-to-London trial, some forty-five members including F. M. Williams, H. C. Freeth, G. P. Coleman, W. S. Buist, Theo. Godlee and J. F. Marchant.
- C. R. Hutchings notes that Mr. Goy now stocks a complete hot-weather outfit, alpaca cap-covers at 2s. 9d., thin grey flannel at the price of ordinary cloth, and thin woollen uniform stockings at 4s. the pair.
- Members' machines offered at two insertions for 1s.: A. O. Ward's 56-inch Stassen at £10, J. F. Marchant's 58-in. Stassen with front-wheel brake at £12, C. W. Dicker's all-bright 54-in. London wanted exchanged for a 52-in. roadster, and a 54-inch Keen Eclipse racer at £10 10s.
- Forthcoming events from the Moseley Harriers' mile handicap at Birmingham on June 1st through the L.B.C. Annual Meeting of June 15th, West Kent B.C. at the Crystal Palace, Private Banks C.C. at Catford Bridge, the L.A.C. and Beckenham C.C. on June 29th, and the Pickwick and Temple club meetings in July.
- District meets for June 1st, Lea Bridge Road for Harlow, “Jack Straw's Castle” for Northaw, Kew Bridge and Surbiton for Chertsey, Croydon and the “Hare and Billet” for Wrotham, no runs at all on June 8th, and the Whit Monday 100-mile trial from Bath to London for the L.B.C. Road Medals.
- “Blackamoor” attacks the sombre black racing costume as both hideous and a handicap under a broiling sun, and “Consistency” protests at the W. Division's advertised Ripley run being alterable on the spot to Burnham Beeches. “V.” proposes club machines kept at each district head-quarters and hired to members at 10s. a week, and “One who Rode” gives the rider's view of the Hampton Court Meet with four suggestions for the next great meet.
