- Unheaded leader on the long correspondence about head covering, arguing that the sheer variety of advice is its own refutation and that the neat dark blue cap, with a permissive straw hat for hot days and a sunshade for exceptional heat, should stand unaltered.
- Captain T. E. Scrutton repeats his request for members willing to represent the Club against Oxford University Bicycle Club at Oxford on May 20th.
- Notice that the match against the Cambridge University Bicycle Club will take place on June 22nd, and not on June 20th as previously notified.
- Captain T. E. Scrutton asks for members to help time the riders at Devizes, Marlboro' Hill, Hungerford, Newbury, Reading, Maidenhead Bridge, Slough and Colnbrook; entries close with the Hon. Sec. on Monday, 15th May.
- Surbiton Grounds, 8th June 1882, a Mile Handicap open to all members with a special allowance for roadsters, and a Novices Race; T. E. Scrutton to judge, entrance 2s. 6d., entries to A. E. Buckler or G. P. Coleman.
- Full report of the annual Oxford v. Cambridge contest on the C.U.Bi.C. path: Buckley (Oxford) won the Two Miles in 5 min. 52 3/4 sec., J. S. Whatton (Cambridge) the Ten Miles, and G. D. Day (Cambridge) the Twenty-Five after Jephson's wheel was smashed in the last lap; Cambridge lead the series six to three since 1874.
- A corrected account, sent by a member who was present, of Percy Tilt Letchford's summons at Brentford Petty Sessions for furiously driving his tricycle; P.C. John Roberts 219 T was contradicted on numbers, distances and the width of the road, and Mr. W. A. Smith explained that Letchford's geared-down "Devon" only looked like spurting, whereupon the Bench dismissed the summons.
- "Rambler" notes only eleven Bath Trial entries so far, that two-thirds of each Inter-'Varsity team were L.B.C. men, that the N.E. district has acquired a fox terrier, J. F. Griffith's win in the Five Miles Invitation at Alexandra Park, progress on the Silchester excavations, and Chippindale's latest despatch from Point-de-Galle, Ceylon.
- Tabulated district meets for May 13th and 20th, Ickenham, Leatherhead, Cheshunt, Watford, Walton and the Sanderstead paperchase, with no official run on May 27th, Bank Holiday.
- District reports of the 6th May runs: Theo. Godlee's N.E. party to the "Bell" at Upminster over heavy roads and a lampless ride home; W. J. Williams's thirteen-strong N.W. run of 35 1/2 miles to the "Five Horse Shoes," Little Berkhampstead, where Tulloch finished eleven miles on one leg after losing a crank key; the joint W. and S.W. run to Newland's Corner and the "Silent Pool" with tea at the "Anchor," Ripley; and H. G. A. Brown's twelve S.E. men to the "Three Horseshoes," Knockholt.
- The West District's next Saturday run is a short one through the Willesden lanes to Ickenham ("Coach and Horses") to meet the N.W., recommended as a capital opening run for those who have not yet turned out this year.
- H. G. A. Brown reminds members of the meeting with the S.W. District at Leatherhead by Sutton, Ewell and Epsom, and announces the spring paperchase on 20th May starting from Sanderstead at 4.50 for Westerham, with two machines (54 and 52 inches) available to lend to visitors.
- S. P. Smith announces that as Sanderstead is so far off there will be no Lewisham Church meet on 20th May, and suggests members take the 3.34 train from Lewisham to Addiscombe and join the Croydon Division at Central Croydon Station.
- W. A. Smith's address is now Savernake Cottage, Mill Hill, Acton.
- Captain-sanctioned meetings from May 13th to May 30th, including the La Crosse Club Sports, the L.B.C. v. O.U.Bi.C. match, the L.B.C. One Hundred Miles Trial and the Pengwern Boat Club Sports at Shrewsbury.
- E. H. Pollock of 25, Thurlow Road, Hampstead again offers his silver-plated "Humber" roadster with ball bearings, brake, suspension saddle, Stanton's cyclometer and King of the Road lamp; cost £30, price £17. 10s.
- A long reply by "McCullum Hill" to Theo. Godlee, Captain Scrutton, "A. E. B.," "K. F." and "Paraclete" on the failed Promenade Concert, arguing that the Club is too conservative, that its race meetings lose money, and that dinners and concerts deserve members' support as much as riding does.
- H. H. Sherriff and J. W. Alison are thanked for contributions received, and McCullum Hill is told his attractive programme falls on a date when the editor expects to be away.
