- A standing note that the latest hour for reception of copy for the Gazette is 5.30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
- The Editor proposes to compile a list of every member who has changed address since the Blue Book was published, together with the men elected since, and asks members to notify him on or before the 3rd of July, stating whether a new address is temporary and for how long it will stand good.
- The Times list of gentlemen called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple on the 21st instant includes T. E. Scrutton, M.A., LL.B. of London University and Cambridge, Fellow of University College London, Whewell Scholar and Barstow Law Scholar for 1882.
- The District Captains set out the marshalling for the General Meet at Ewell on the 1st proximo: the N.E. leaves Lea Bridge Road at 3.0 to join the N.W. at "Jack Straw's," the pair meeting the W. at the "Coach and Horses" at Kew and then the S.W. at Kingston Station, while the Blackheath Division leaves Lewisham Church at 3.30 for Central Croydon. Tea at the "Glyn Arms"; Ewell was chosen only because the innkeepers of Teddington and Hampton Court declined to entertain the Club.
- A party of five, three of them L.B.C. men, leave for a fortnight's tour down the Rhine about July 22nd and want a sixth; applications by letter to H. H. Sherriff, Holly House, Mortlake.
- Report of the Executive meeting held at 17, Ironmonger Lane on June 20th, 1882: Mr. Milner of the Local Championship Committee attended for instructions, the Local Centre Rules were under revision, and several cases of amateurism came up for decision. Signed Wm. Pyke-English, Hon. Sec.
- Specially reported account of the annual match at Surbiton on June 22nd, in which the C.U.Bi.C. took all three events: J. S. Whatton won the One Mile and the Four Miles, G. D. Day the Fifteen Miles from J. F. Griffith, with G. P. Coleman timekeeping and W. Cornell of the Wanderers judging. The writer criticises the Cambridge men's habit of taking their feet from the pedals after a "tablecloth" finish so near a corner, and notes C. A. Brown was accidentally shut out by Westcott in the final spurt.
- The Club's eighth annual meeting at Stamford Bridge, with C. A. E. Pollock taking the Ladies' Challenge Prize, H. R. Reynolds the One Mile Handicap, W. E. Milner of Belsize the Two Miles Open and the Five Miles Scratch, and M. H. Jephson leading the West District home in the Ten Miles District Race. W. T. Hill was knocked over in the fourth mile and Pollock steered through a gap in the railing to avoid him; Mrs. Price gave away the prizes and the Bath Trial and Cambridge match medals.
- The Captain's sanctioned list from July to November, including the Starley Memorial Fund Sports at Coventry, the One and Twenty-five Miles Amateur Championships at Birmingham, the Five Miles and Fifty Miles Championships at the Crystal Palace, Bury St. Edmunds B.C.'s second annual meeting and the Surrey B.C. autumn meeting at the Oval. Rule 40 forbids any member representing the Club without the Captain's permission.
- R. B. Hough of 151, Amhurst Road, Hackney offers a 56-in. "Royal Challenge" with ball bearings to the front wheel, complete with lamp, at £10 for £18; and the St. Albans group photograph, 8 by 10 inches, is on view at 35, Eastcheap at 4s. 6d. mounted from Mr. Horn of Shaftesbury Road, Richmond.
- A table of the district meets for the coming weeks, opening with the General Meet at Ewell on July 1st, and covering Lea Bridge Road, Whip's Cross, "Jack Straw's Castle," Savernake Cottage, Hammersmith Bridge, Kingston Station, Central Croydon Station and Lewisham Church, for runs to Hoddesdon, Denham, Ickenham, Reigate, Riverhead, Wisley Hut and East Grinstead.
- "Light" continues his Welsh journal: down the Dovey valley through Machynlleth to Aberystwith and the "Queen's Hotel," two quiet days on the Parade and Constitution Hill, then over the pass by Devil's Bridge and the Mynach falls, past Plinlimmon to Llangurrig, Rhayader and Builth, and down the Wye by Hay to Hereford and the "Mitre." He recommends the route to anyone content with moderate distances, good air and scenery.
- J. W. Wilson is now at "Wyddrington, Birmingham," and Walter S. Meyer at 124, Wood Street, E.C., now residing in the W. District.
- "Rambler" hopes the Northern members will turn out for Ewell, notes Whatton's 36 3-5 sec. lap against time at Surbiton after the match, and argues that the visitors' inside station and the practice of letting twice-lapped men continue in the District Race should both be reformed. He also praises L. B. Reynolds, H. N. Sharp and H. M. Hewitt's riding, reports Pollock's presence of mind at W. T. Hill's spill, a coming four-mile match between the Potters and the Barretts at the Crystal Palace, and a proposed L.B.C. lacrosse team in the N.E.
- Wm. Pyke-English prints the Bicycle Union Executive's seven offences, selling prizes, "roping," riding to orders, false entry forms, unfair riding, competing against a suspended man and impersonation, for which a rider may be suspended subject to appeal to the Council. A second writer argues the "free tickets" question should go to the Committee and then the Annual Meeting, doubting that a tenth of the members would refuse an extra shilling a year for the race meeting.
- Contributions must be addressed to the Editor at 35, Eastcheap, E.C., bear the author's name though not necessarily for insertion, be written on one side of the paper only, and reach the office by 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday for immediate insertion.
