- Standing note that the latest hour for reception of copy for the "Gazette" is 5.30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
- Captain T. E. Scrutton, writing from Copsefield, Buckhurst Hill, asks members wishing to represent the Club against Oxford University Bicycle Club at Oxford on May 20th to let him know at once, as he has at present "more quality than quantity."
- Members are reminded that entries for the Bath Trial must be made in writing to the Hon. Sec. at "Homelea," Greenhill, Hampstead, on or before Monday, 15th May.
- Report of the adjourned special Council meeting at the "Manchester Hotel," where the recommendation to clubs was altered from Ten Guineas to Five Guineas, with N. B. Morris, Theo. Godlee, W. A. Smith, S. P. Smith and F. M. Williams representing the L.B.C.; followed by the Executive meeting of April 25 at 17, Ironmonger Lane, which admitted the Speedwell, Croydon Rovers and Vincent clubs and resolved to defend the Letchford furious-riding summons.
- A westerly hurricane wrecked the district plans and only eleven attended, arriving in six separate parties; Buckler and H. H. Sherriff rode in from the S.W., Nops faced the gale alone from the West, Brown and Oswald came from Croydon on a double "Coventry Triumph" tricycle, and Theo. Godlee gave up at Richmond for the train.
- E. H. Pollock of 25, Thurlow Road, Hampstead offers a 58-inch silver-plated "Humber" roadster with ball bearings, brake, suspension saddle, Stanton's cyclometer and Dearlove's King of the Road head-lamp; cost £30, price £17. 10s.
- Tabulated district meets for the coming Saturdays, Upminster ("The Bell"), Mill Hill ("Five Horseshoes"), Newland's Corner, Knockholt, Ickenham, Leatherhead, Cheshunt, Watford, Walton and a Sanderstead paperchase, with a note that there is no official run on May 27th, Bank Holiday.
- District Captain W. J. Williams, after poor attendances at the last two meets, urges members to turn out in strong force for Saturday's run to Little Berkhampstead.
- District Captain Daniel T. Nops announces Saturday's ride to Newland's Corner and "The Silent Pool," with tea at "The Anchor," Ripley, the view from Newland's Corner at sunset, and a moonlight ride home.
- Arthur E. Buckler, S.W. District Captain, states for the benefit of late comers and visitors that after the Silent Pool the party will return to the "Anchor" at Ripley for tea.
- District Captain H. G. A. Brown hopes for a fine Saturday and a large attendance on the run to Knockholt ("The Three Horse Shoes"), near the celebrated Beeches, to atone for the poor showing at Halliford.
- Mr. Percy Letchford of the Finchley Tricycle Club was summoned at Brentford Petty Sessions for "furious riding" in the Kew Bridge Road; P.C. 219 T's evidence of twelve miles an hour was picked apart in cross-examination by Mr. Horace Avory.
- "L. Shedder" rides a 54-inch "Humber" from Ongar to Ipswich by Chelmsford, Witham and Colchester into an east wind, and home again by Manningtree, Maldon and Danbury; he disputes the claim that the Colchester–Ipswich road is a succession of short abrupt hills, and argues that Maldon beats Ross for beauty.
- "D. D. S." describes overtaking the night mail-cart by bicycle after the mailman drove off without the registered letters, carrying the bag slung on his back over a steep incline in the dark and restoring it to the driver by pretending he had dropped it.
- By E. J. and H. H. Sherriff: a morning bathe and cheap comfortable quarters at the "Queen's" in Aberystwith, then a hard hilly run by Tal-y-bont and Eglwysfach to Machynlleth, a guided tour of a roadside slate quarry, and the first sight of Lake Mwngil above Talyllyn.
- "Rambler's" gossip column defends illegible handwriting, welcomes the Committee's appointment of a Club cloth merchant, settles the knickerbockers-versus-knee-breeches dispute by citing Rule 2, and reports that the A.A.A. will expunge the bicycling note from its amateur definition.
- The Captain-sanctioned list of meetings from May to July 1882, including the L.B.C. v. O.U.Bi.C. match, the L.B.C. One Hundred Miles Trial, the amateur championships at Birmingham and Crystal Palace, and club races at Stamford Bridge and Alexandra Palace.
- "McCullum Hit" adds to "Preceptor's" article on machine care, tallowed flannel round the bearings, a hedge-stake splint for a snapped handle-bar, sheet steel and cobbler's wax for a cracked backbone; "Districtus" wants a prescribed cut of coat and yachting caps; Alfred Barker asks about an uninscribed roadside grave between Devizes and Marlborough.
