- Report of the season's last General Meet, where thirty-two members sat down to tea at the "King's Head" on Harrow Hill by moonlight, with district reports from the W. (via Ealing, Alperton and Sudbury), the N.W. (from Hendon Station through the Kenton lanes), the S.E. (six men from the Croydon Fire Station by Kingston Bridge rather than Kew) and the N.E. (a roundabout route by Jack Straw's, Hendon and Blackpot, home by Finchley and Muswell Hill), plus the Captain's vain wait for the truant S.W. on Kew Bridge.
- Captain Ashley W. Barnett announces he will be absent from town for the first two weeks of September and that Theo. Godlee has consented to attend to Club business, so communications should be addressed to him.
- R. G. Francis announces next Saturday's run to Riverhead, one of the District's favourite meets: Croydon men leave the Fire Station at 4.30 and join the Blackheath Division at 5.15 on Farnborough Common, with tea at the "Amhurst Arms" at 6.30.
- H. C. Pigott expects a large muster for the run to Datchet, only thirteen miles from the 3.45 start at Acton, with visitors promised from other divisions and tea at 6.30 at this favourite riverside resort.
- Tabulated district meets for the N.E., N.W., W., S.W. and the Croydon and Blackheath Divisions of the S.E., with destinations including Havering, Berkhampstead, Datchet, Guildford, Riverhead, Stock and Sunbury, and a paperchase at Addington.
- Racing and club notes: Wood again beat Howell by seven yards in the One Mile Professional Championship at Wolverhampton in 2 min. 56 1/2 sec.; Oliver Thorn won at the Ravensbourne A.C. meeting at Stamford Bridge; F. Lees of Sheffield covered 20 miles 905 yards in the hour at the Belgrave Road Grounds, Leicester; J. W. Brown raised the 24 hours record to 231 1/2 miles; and the N.C.U. library is complained of as barely used, with only twenty-two signatures in three months.
- Two replies to "Wyvern" on the Member's Brother, an "Ex-Member's-Brother" holding that expense and a watchful D.C. regulate the matter without rules, and Ashley W. Barnett arguing that visitors are the Club's best recruiting ground and cost it neither money nor trouble, followed by a letter on "Modest Hotel Charges" warning members off the Royal Stag Hotel, Datchet, where lunch is 4s. 6d. and breakfast 3s.
- Gossip paragraphs on the flood of members' articles about the "Member's Sister" that has turned the Eastcheap editorial office into a land of poetry and dreams, the popularity of the 22nd September family meeting and its Twelve Miles District Race, a proposed commemorative Harrow medal showing the Captain with a harrowed expression, and the collapse of the France and Switzerland touring quartette.
