  Editor Abbot Bassett invites all L. A. W. members to the September 9 annual banquet and National Assembly meeting at the Dreyfus restaurant on Beach street, Boston, followed by the two-day "Wheel About the Hub" run hosted by the Boston Bicycle Club starting September 10.
• A VELOCIPEDE CHAMPIONSHIP.

  Charles E. Bassett recalls winning an 1869 boneshaker race for the New England championship and a $1,000 purse at the Horticultural Hall Rink, Boston, defeating famous oarsman Walter Brown despite repeated falls, though the prize had shrunk to $10 by payout.
• COMING EVENTS.

  A calendar of August cycling fixtures including the Panama-Pacific Exposition bicycle championship at San Francisco (Aug 3-5), Century Road Club runs, the Saint Louis Cycle Club picnic at Ten Broek on the Meramec river, and a New York Division cycling carnival.
• ANNUAL MEETING AND DINNER.

  President W. H. Hale urges delegates and members to attend the September 9-11 annual meeting, old-time wheelmen's dinner, and "Wheel About the Hub" in Boston, giving three reasons centred on reunion with old friends.
