Bedell's transcontinental motorcycle record (Los Angeles to New York, 3,296 miles in 7 days 16 hours), Arthur Spencer of Toronto taking the two-mile national sprint title at the Newark Velodrome over Alfred Goullet, Erwin G. "Cannon-Ball" Baker's 24-hour Indian record of 1,386 miles at Cincinnati, and Lieut. E. L. Hoffman and James Urquhart's Indian sidecar record at El Centro, Calif.
- Lists the oldest L. A. W. members discovered, including Jarvis C. Howard of New Rochelle (born March 8, 1840), James Ward of Pascoag, R. I., Alfred B. Hodge of Taunton, Mass., and Chas. W. Reed of Boston (born 1841).
- Reports that Charles F. Cossum of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., a longtime L. A. W. member who joined in 1883 and served as First Vice-President in 1896, shot himself on July 16 fearing an appendicitis operation; found by Policeman McLaughlin, he survived but feared he had lost his eyesight.
- President Milo M. Belding's open letter to members urging summer riding in the heat, lamenting that ladies have forsaken the wheel, and inviting all to the annual banquet on Sept. 13th.
- Notice from Secretary-Treasurer Abbot Bassett that the Annual Meeting of the National Assembly, including officer reports and elections, will be held at the Hotel Marliave, Boston, on Thursday evening Sept. 13th at 8 o'clock.
- Abbot Bassett's notice of the Annual Banquet at the Hotel Marliave, Boston, on Sept. 13th at 6 o'clock, dinner tickets $1, with members asked to notify the Secretary by September 10.
