- Howard L. Perkins of Providence, R.I., L.A.W. life member No. 145 and a former Rhode Island Division vice president and consul, died June 19 after years of ill health following a cerebral hemorrhage.
- Five thousand spectators watched New Bedford's first bicycle races in years on July 4, with wins by Thomas Gilford (motorcycle), Manuel Nunes (men's) and Ray Bauldry, who also took the four-mile scratch race in 32 minutes.
- The National Old Trails Association announces that arrangements for a national transcontinental highway from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles are complete in every state but a few counties in Kansas and Missouri.
- Notice from Secretary-Treasurer Abbot Bassett that the L.A.W.'s Annual Assembly meeting will be held at the Hotel Marliave, Boston, on Thursday evening, Sept. 12, with officer reports and elections, and mail ballots for absent delegates.
- Notice inviting all League members to the Annual Dinner at Hotel Marliave, Boston, on Sept. 12 at $1 a ticket, with Bassett asking members to notify him by Sept. 9 if attending.
