Greenwood, who died May 16, 1919, recounting the famous July 1887 high-bicycle match race against Percy Stone over the DeSoto road (Greenwood on a Star, Stone on an Ordinary) and his world hill-climbing championship win over John A. Wells of Philadelphia.
- Reports Erwin G. "Cannonball" Baker's July 11 ride on an Indian motorcycle covering the 1,714-mile "Three Flag" course from Canada through California to Mexico in 59 hours 47 minutes, and a July 26 side-car run in 65 hours 53 minutes.
- Quotes a fifty-year-old newspaper account of the first velocipede in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, owned by Cope and ridden by Brown of the Crowell House.
- Fifteen members of the St. Louis Cycling Club pedaled via Cahokia and Columbia to Waterloo, Illinois, then on through Millstadt to Belleville where they met eighteen more members for dinner, making thirty-three riders in all.

- The War Department announces that large numbers of motor vehicles no longer needed after the armistice will be sold, with first priority to government agencies, then manufacturers, then the public.
- A chronological history of American cycling from 1877, covering R. H. Hodgson's first wire-wheel bicycle at Newton Upper Falls, A. D. Chandler's imported Singer Challenge, the founding of the Boston Bicycle Club (Feb. 12, 1878) as the first in the U.S., early races and club runs, and Pope Manufacturing Co.'s first Hartford-made Columbia bicycles.
