  The Milan section of the T.C.C.I. announces a 4 August excursion to Voghera, gathering at Porta Ticinese at 4am with stops at Pavia (7am) and arrival in Voghera at 10:30am for lunch; the entry fee is 2.25 lire including the meal, with sub-sections from Pavia, Alessandria, Tortona, Novi, Lodi, Piacenza and Mortara expected to join.

  Minutes of the Council's 24 June and 3 July 1895 sittings: Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli presents copies of the new road Guida and is voted thanks for it; Gorla reports that the Cycling Society of Mortara wants to join en masse but is refused the special terms already denied to the societies of Brescia and Biella; Federico Johnson accepts the consulship of the Milan section; and the Council institutes a rotating fortnightly "Consigliere delegato" roster (Segré, Dell'Oro, Carugati, Luzzatto, Gorla, Tarra, Venino) to handle correspondence and cash through the summer and autumn.

  The seventh list of Consular Corps appointments approved by the Council: new Consuls include Napoleone Scotto (Turin), Gennaro Antonio Bordigli (Modena), Luigi Castellani (Florence), Pietro Moro (Milan) and Giovanni Mitis (Trieste), with Vice-Consuls named for Serravalle Scrivia, Como, Mestre, Bologna, Rimini, Falconara Marittima and Trieste; Giovanni Rossori of Novara resigns.

  Road-section chief Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli thanks members for the overwhelming reception of the club's new road Guida, citing praise from General Durand de la Penne and the Royal Military Geographic Institute, and lays out his plan for the next edition: re-measuring all distances from 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 maps with a curvimeter, correcting place names, and adding new routes, asking correspondents to write to his home address at 18 Via S. Barnaba, Milan.

  A letter from the Italian Ambassador in Vienna, Costantino Nigra, to the T.C.C.I. explains that a gun permit in Austria costs one florin and lasts up to three years, issued by the local political authority, and that Austro-Hungarian embassies and consulates may also authorise travellers to carry arms for their own use.
• Alberghi accordanti facilitazioni ai soci del T.C.C.I. (opens in a new tab)

  A list of hotels offering discounts to members, including the Aquila Romana at Borgo San Donnino, the Reale d'Italia at Bergamo, the Reale "Mayer" at Desenzano, the Stella at Erba, and three separate Voghera hotels (Universo, Italia, Tramway), each with its fixed lunch, breakfast and room prices.

  Movement-section chief Alberto Riva reports that the consuls for Germany, Switzerland, England, Spain, the Netherlands and Turkey answered the club's customs questionnaire promptly, while Austria and France did not, forcing recourse to the Italian embassies; he also relays T.C.F. president Abele Ballif's notice that French customs director G. Pallain has granted T.C.F. members abroad free entry for their machines from 1 June.

  A review of the Touring Club de France's 400-page Annuaire, now sold to T.C.C.I. members for 1 franc, describing its lists of hotels, mechanics, doctors and first-aid posts; and of the first two Guide Routier fascicles on Normandy by A. Grandin, covering 48 main routes with distances, road conditions and gradients.
• Milano-Gallarate-Arona (opens in a new tab)

  A road-guide supplement rating the Sempione arch to Rho stretch as the worst road near Milan, but praising the Gallarate-Sesto and Sesto-Arona stretches as excellent, and listing the T.C.C.I. consular officers at Milan, Legnano, Busto Arsizio, Gallarate, Sesto Calende and Meina along with contracted hotels including the Tre Re and Vapore at Busto Arsizio and the San Gottardo at Arona.

  A long illustrated road-guide narrative tracing the Naviglio Grande canal from its 1177 origins to Abbiategrasso, through Vigevano's rice paddies to Mortara (whose name, the text claims, comes from Charlemagne's slaughter of Desiderius's Lombards there) and on to Casale Monferrato with its cathedral of Sant'Evasio; also describes the Sempione arch, the Certosa di Garegnano's Daniele Crespi frescoes, the Legnano battlefield against Barbarossa, and the 28-metre San Carlone statue at Arona.

  A note of condolence on the sudden death, aged 8, of Carletto, son of the T.C.C.I.'s director Nob. don Giulio Venino, to whom the Administrative Council sent a telegram on behalf of the membership.
• Al Circolo Polare. (opens in a new tab)

  Mario Tamburini and Raffaele Gatti of the "La Minerva" cycling society and T.C.C.I. members set off from Milan by bicycle for the Arctic Circle via Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Kiel, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Kristiania and Gellivare in Lapland, returning through Finland, St Petersburg, Warsaw and Vienna.
• La passeggiata Milano-Gallarate. (opens in a new tab)

  Report on the T.C.C.I.'s Milan-Gallarate outing, delayed to avoid clashing with the Monza-Sondrio race and thinned by threatening weather; the touring party was welcomed at Gallarate by local consul Sacconaghi and the gymnastics and cycling society "Tutto per la Patria," touring its new premises and cinder track before lunching at the Albergo Italia.
