  Circular from the Direzione Generale announcing that the merger agreement between Italy's two national cycling associations, the sport-focused Unione Velocipedistica Italiana (U.V.I.) and touring-focused Touring Club Ciclistico Italiano (T.C.C.I.), first reached at the 26 November 1896 Turin meeting, was formally ratified by a convention signed in Milan on 20 December 1896, with the two bodies now operating as fully separate, independent associations for sport and tourism respectively.

Remo Segre and Dott. Piero Favari.
