  Minutes of the 29 April, 6 and 13 May 1896 sittings: disciplining councillor Ricordi under Article 35, arranging the by-election scrutiny committee (Barutta, Fodrio, Melli), voting thanks to Rome's head consul Vito Pardo, receiving France's grant of duty-free entry to members with a photo card, approving the new route profiles (Giovi, Genova-Spezia, Spezia-Berceto, Berceto-Parma) and the 1896 Annuario, and agreeing Bertarelli's plan to expand the Regional Guides into full road monographs, starting with Lombardy in June.

  Bertarelli thanks members for their praise of the Guida, corrects three omissions in its road tables (the Nizza-Ventimiglia and Nizza-Tenda sections, a stale note on the Verona-Mantova road), announces the Regional Guides will become full road monographs rather than summaries, describes surveying 2,500 secondary road sections across 480 Lombard towns by postal questionnaire for the Guida della Lombardia, and explains the new route profiles' "per mille" gradient figures, which deliberately ignore level stretches to show a climb's true difficulty.

  Legal Section chief Dell'Oro announces a forthcoming pocket compilation of cycling case law, admits it draws mostly on La Bicicletta and the Touring Club de France's bulletin for want of member contributions, thanks readers for their comments on the draft traffic code, and prints the roster of legal consultants engaged so far, from Borgosesia to Verona.

  Comfort Section list of hotels giving T.C.C.I. members discounted rates, among them the Metropole e Suisse and Monte di Brianza at Como, the Albergo Roma at Savona and the Albergo della Posta at Sondrio, plus flat discounts at Bracciano, Fiumicino and Luino.

  The Milan Consulate reports its scheme of coupon booklets funding small annual payments to the 45 road-menders on the busiest provincial roads around Milan, each road assigned to a named consul or vice-consul for oversight, alongside a report on the section's successful 40-strong ride to Varese joined by cyclists from Legnano, Gallarate and Busto Arsizio.

  The Turin section, invited to a large rally at Ivrea on 26 April, rode there in a body (112 km round trip) and thanks the Ivrea and Terni consuls and the Veloce Club Eporediese's president Quilico for their welcome.

  Report on the Rome section's two big spring rides, 19 April to Rocca di Papa and Monte Cavo (42 riders, including Don Chisciotte editor Vamba) and 26 April to Bracciano (76 riders including new Viterbo and Civitavecchia sections, an 80-cover banquet at the castle and carrier pigeons released to Rome), and a further outing to Fiumicino with over 50 cyclists.

  The Pavia Consular Corps' 10 May ride to the San Colombano rally (31 km), joined en route by the Lodi and Codogno sections, with notary Bermond of Broni among the participants travelling by automobile.

  The Cremona section's Ascension Day "maggiolata" to Cicognolo, hosted by the Gualazzi brothers at the Pallavicino garden with 102 at table, including capo-consolessa Cita Cottarelli, and toasts to the Touring Club that Cremona claims to have championed from its earliest days.

  The Milan Consulate's detailed circular for the 28 June national cycling rally at the Castello Sforzesco, with ten out-of-town meeting points (Binasco, Melegnano, Sesto San Giovanni and others) for visiting sections, assembly in Piazza del Duomo at 10.30, a wine reception at the Parco dell'Arena, a 3-lira luncheon and an afternoon visit to the castle.
