  Minutes of four Council sittings (21 February, 2 and 9 March, 16 March 1898): approving a paid vice-secretary to ease Lorenzi's workload, arrangements for the club's presence at the Turin Exhibition (Gorla to assist Johnson), fixing the Congresso Touristico Nazionale for 10 June and the Milano-Torino ride for 9 June to follow the 1 June Roma-Torino, Vanzetti volunteering to lobby the Finance Ministry in Rome over travelling to provincial capitals for bicycle weight-and-measure sealing, and a public notice to all consuls warning that obstructing cyclists is punishable under Article 483 of the Penal Code.

  Revised four-day programme for the Turin gathering, now dated 26-29 June: arrival of the caravans, a vermouth reception and the Touring Congress at the Exhibition, an excursion and lunch at Superga, a wreath-laying parade to the independence-wars memorial, cycle races at the Velodromo Umberto I and a banquet at the Swiss shooting-range cellar, with travel-agency package deals (7.25-7.50 lire for lodging and meals) offered through Brizzi e Volonté and Chiari.

  Repeated warning from Stanislao Paeboni that laissez-passer issued by Swiss customs between 1 July and 31 December 1897 expire on 30 June 1898, and holders must present the named bicycle at a Swiss frontier post to log its re-export and obtain the stamped coupon, or face the import duty.

  New consular appointments by Council resolution of 18 May 1898, promoting Mario Tarenzi to Capo Console at Brescia and Italo Vivanti at Locarno, and naming new consuls from Bojano to a first consul in Buenos Aires, Giovanni A. Manni.

  Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli opens a new running feature of some 46 numbered day-and-weekend cycling itineraries radiating from Milan, each with a route table of stage distances and Guida cross-references, covering destinations from the Bergamo valleys and the Iseo and Como lakes to the Ossola, the Cascata della Toce, Macugnaga and Lake Maggiore, with further series promised for Rome, Florence and Turin.
