Nat Butler of the Cambridgeport Cycling Club wins the 25-mile Linscott road race in Boston with a new world record time of 1:11:28, taking first place, the time prize diamond, and a record-breaking diamond worth $150, watched by an estimated 40,000 to 60,000 spectators.

Harry Wheeler rides his first professional race in England at Herne Hill before 125,000 spectators but fails to even qualify for the one-mile final, which is won by Englishman James with Farman of France second.
- Waller Finishes Third
Frank Waller finishes third in the Rennes to Brest and back road race behind winner J. Allard, but wins the 5,000 metres scratch at Paris on April 22, defeating Durmond and Farman by a good length.
- Weekly Races at Wichita
Frank Burtis opens a new half-mile track at Wichita, Kansas, and plans weekly Thursday races; local men M.H. Hurt, R. Miller, and five others are training under Harry Davis, with M.H. Burt showing good speed in Class A.
