Seventeen-year-old Horace Rumsey wins the Forest Park Road Race in St. Louis from an 8:30 handicap, while William Van Wagoner of Syracuse takes the time prize with a new course record of 53:47, watched by an estimated 10,000 spectators lining three and a half miles of the course.
