- Account of the Chicago Bicycle Club's cross-border tour, which left the Michigan Exchange Hotel in Detroit on 2 July 1883 and rode via Windsor, Leamington and Blenheim, Ontario; names riders including Dr. C. P. Pruyn, Capt. E. F. Brown and A. S. Hibbard of Milwaukee.
- Miscellaneous notes column: beef extract as a wheelmen's tonic, C. F. Haven's fall near Chestnut Hill reservoir, W. V. Gilman's gift of a marine bicycle to the Springfield Club, E. H. - Julius Wilcox reports on the 23-24 June twenty-four-hour road race for Facile bicycles, tabulating riders such as Brown, Vesey and Boothroyd against their 1882 marks and noting that the winning distance rose to 221 1/4 miles.
- H. D. Corey of the Massachusetts Bicycle Club becomes only the second rider, after W. W. Stall, to ride a tricycle up Corey Hill in Brookline, completing the climb on a 48-inch Apollo geared to 42 inches.
- G. C. Holmes asks the Brockton, City and Union bicycle clubs to name delegates for the 3 October bicycle parade and tournament at the agricultural fair, and W. W. Stall offers to arrange a tricycle race there.
- Essex County Wheelmen announce an excursion and race-meeting schedule (Salem to Nahant, Marblehead, Haverhill and a Lawrence cinder track), and Stephen Terry of Hartford is named Connecticut chief consul in place of the late S. A. Marsden.
- Reports the Boston Bicycle Club's Cobb's-to-Boston tricycle road race, won by W. W. Stall ahead of Edmands, Dean and Morris, plus shorter items on the Prince-Higham feud, the Kings County Wheelmen's Brooklyn race meeting, and the English ten-mile tricycle championship at Leicester.
- Club briefs including the new Canton, Pa. and Canton, Ohio wheel clubs' officers, the Eclipse Wheelmen of St. Louis, a Manchester-Rockingham clubs outing to York Beach, the Peoria Bicycle Club's new cinder track, and rival new tracks built by Rochester, N.Y.'s Genesee and Rochester clubs.
- C.T.C. department covering membership dues, the 1884 Harrogate annual meet, the new C.T.C. uniform, ordering the 1883 club handbook from secretary E. R. Shipton, and new membership applications from Baltimore and Montreal.
- Answers to correspondents on identifying Brown's ball bearings, Lamplugh & Brown skeleton leggings, comfortable cycling shoes, and a query about slow-race records citing C. S. Howard's 100 yards in 14m. 32s.
