- Louisville correspondent 'L'Allegro' reports July 4th races at the Fair Grounds (H. - President N. Malon Beckwith announces the death of Connecticut Chief Consul S. A. Marsden and the appointment of Stephen Terry of Hartford as his successor.
- An editorial hailing the Springfield Club's three-day September tournament as the most fascinating entertainment ever offered to wheelmen, noting the planned half-mile concrete track, banquet, illumination and fireworks, and predicting records will fall.
- Chief Consul H. S. Livingston calls Ohio wheelmen to a September 3rd meeting at Columbus to organize a permanent State Division, with C. J. Krag and D. E. Barnum named secretary and treasurer pro tem.
